How you earn

2% cashback on up to £125 of Direct Debits a month, 2% AER on the balance, and a 7.1% regular saver.

  • 2% cashback on up to £125 of Direct Debits each month (max £2.50, or £30 a year), plus 2% AER variable interest on the Biscuit balance with no cap, and a linked 7.1% AER regular saver on up to £300 a month for 6 months.
  • 2% on eligible Direct Debits.
  • Cashback only on Direct Debits, not everyday card spend, and only on the first £125 of those Direct Debits each month. The 2% interest is variable. Regular saver is 6 months, £300/month max.
  • 2% cashback on bills (capped £2.50/month), 2% AER on the balance, 7.1% regular saver, and fee-free card spending abroad.
  • No minimum pay-in and no monthly fee — cashback needs bills on Direct Debit.
  • Cashback is bills-only and small (£30/year max). Some reviews still quote a 4% new-customer promo — check the live Zopa page before repeating that figure. App-only.

Using it abroad

No Zopa fee on debit card payments abroad — Visa exchange rate with no added markup. Fee-free cash withdrawals abroad up to £200 in any rolling 30 days, then 2% on the amount above that. ATM operators may still charge.

Our Expert Opinion on Zopa Biscuit Debit Card

The Biscuit Debit Card suits savers who pay regular bills by Direct Debit and want a free account with decent interest on the side. Its strongest point is abroad: Zopa uses Visa with practically nothing off the real exchange rate, the best rate we have measured. I like the 7.1% AER linked regular saver, though the cashback is genuinely small - capped at £2.50 a month on the first £125 of Direct Debits, so £30 a year maximum, and it does not apply to everyday card spending at all.
