DepositScout collects reviews of providers, savings products, investments and cards. We check every review. We do not show reviews on the site yet — when we do, this policy will apply to how we publish them.
Who can leave a review
Anyone aged 18 or over who has held or applied for the provider, product or card they are reviewing. You must verify your email address before a review is accepted. We allow one review per person per product, card or provider in any 12-month period.
Fake and incentivised reviews are not allowed
We do not accept reviews that are not based on genuine experience, reviews written by or on behalf of the provider or a competitor, reviews written in exchange for payment, rewards or other incentives, or written by DepositScout staff, contractors or anyone with a commercial connection to us. We do not pay for reviews ourselves. Fake and concealed incentivised reviews are banned commercial practices under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024. We will report suspected breaches to the CMA.
How we check reviews
We verify every reviewer's email address and a member of our team reads every review. We do not currently verify that a reviewer holds the product — reviews rely on the reviewer's own confirmation of their experience. We use automated checks for spam, duplicates and suspicious patterns. We may contact you to confirm details of your experience.
What we reject or remove
We reject or remove reviews that are fake or incentivised, contain personal data about other people or confidential account details, are abusive, defamatory or unlawful, are off-topic, or are duplicates. We do not reject or remove reviews because they are negative or because of any commercial relationship we have with a provider.
Editing
We do not change the substance or rating of a review. We may remove personal data or unlawful content and correct obvious typing errors.
Ratings and averages
When we show an overall rating, it will be calculated from all published reviews for that provider, product or card with no weighting or exclusions other than those described above. We do not show ratings on the site yet.
Outdated reviews
Where a product has changed materially since a review was written, we may mark the review as relating to an earlier version or remove it.
Reporting a review
If you think a review breaks this policy, email [email protected] with a link to it. We review reports within five working days.
Providers
Providers cannot pay to remove, hide or reorder reviews. Providers who attempt to stop customers leaving negative reviews, or who are found to be involved in fake reviews, may have their reviews removed and the matter reported to the CMA.
