How you earn

Up to £5/month in Rewards (£4 for Direct Debits + £1 app login) plus 1%+ at partner retailers and fee-free debit-card spending abroad.

  • £4/month for 2+ Direct Debits (£2+ each).
  • £1/month app login.
  • From 1% back in Rewards at partner retailers (offers change every two weeks).
  • From 1 October 2026 the £1 app-login Reward is removed, so the monthly maximum falls to £4. Maximum 1 Reward account in sole name and 1 in joint names. Rewards can be taken as cash (5 working days), e-gift codes or a charity donation once you reach £5.
  • 2+ Direct Debits of £2+ each for the £4 Reward.
  • The £1 app-login Reward disappears on 1 October 2026. Needs £1,250 paid in each month. No travel or phone insurance — that is Silver/Platinum.

Opening offer

£200 switch offer for customers who did not hold a NatWest current account on 6 May 2026 — open, switch, and meet the conditions within 60 days. Not available if you or anyone on the account has had a NatWest Group cash switch incentive, or if you are switching from NatWest, RBS or Ulster Bank.

Using it abroad

Up to £5/month in Rewards against a £2 fee, partner-retailer offers, Reward credit-card fee refunded, and fee-free debit-card spending abroad.

  • No foreign transaction fee on debit card purchases abroad (NatWest added this to Reward debit cards). Not valid for ATM withdrawals. Local fees may apply.
  • Converts at the Mastercard exchange rate.

Who can apply

The £24 Reward credit card annual fee is refunded if you hold a Reward current account. Defaqto 5-star rated in 2026.

  • Pay in £1,250 a month to an eligible NatWest personal current account.

What else you get

£4 a month in Rewards for 2 or more Direct Debits of at least £2 each, plus £1 a month for one app login — up to £5 a month against a £2 fee — and at least 1% back at partner retailers. No packaged travel or phone insurance (that sits on Silver and Platinum).

  • UK residents 18+. You can hold one Reward account in your name and one in joint names. Upgrade path to Reward Silver (£10/month) and Reward Platinum (£22/month) for insurance.

Our Expert Opinion on NatWest Reward Debit Card

The NatWest Reward Debit Card suits people who already bank with NatWest and want a low-effort monthly cashback alongside fee-free spending abroad. On Mastercard rates it sits practically nothing off the real exchange rate, which matches the best cards we have measured. The structure is straightforward: up to £5 a month in rewards against a £2 fee, though I would flag that from 1 October 2026 the £1 app-login reward disappears, dropping the monthly maximum to £4. You also need to pay in £1,250 a month, so it is not quite as passive as it first looks.
