Starling's New Switch Offer: A Free £105 SURI Toothbrush

Starling is offering switchers a toothbrush worth £105 and with no deposit or direct debit requirements.

Starling has launched a new current account switch offer, and it's an unusual one: instead of cash, new customers get a SURI Pro 2.0 electric toothbrush and UV clean-and-charge case, worth £105 at RRP. Yes, really — while every other bank is throwing £200 at switchers, Starling has decided the way to your heart is through your gums.

The offer runs from 10 August to 11 October 2026 and is open to UK residents aged 18+ who open a new Starling personal current account and complete a full switch from another bank using the Current Account Switch Service. The switch must complete within 30 days of the account opening.

Yes they're generally considered good, I even have one and I really like it. The detachable heads are eco-friendly, plant-based and recyclable and the battery seems to last for what feels like forever.

Some people are mixed on their cleaning power, and some dental professionals find their vibrations a bit too gentle compared to traditional rotating heads (my dentist didn't like that I owned one that didn't rotate). But I really like mine – especially the handy magnetic dock that you can stick to your mirror (see above).

What makes this switch offer different

Most switch offers come with homework. Barclays wants £2,000 deposited and two direct debits moved. NatWest wants £1,250 paid in and an app login. First Direct wants five card payments on top.

Starling's asks for none of that. There's no minimum deposit, no direct debit requirement, no spending criteria — just a completed switch. On paper, that makes it the easiest offer on the market to qualify for.

The trade-off is obvious: everyone else is paying £175–£220 in actual money. Starling is paying in toothbrush. If you'd have bought a SURI anyway, this is arguably the best-value offer going. If you wouldn't, £200 cash from NatWest or Barclays buys you the toothbrush and leaves change.

The small print worth knowing

  • It's a full CASS switch, which means your old account closes. Don't use an account you want to keep — open a spare elsewhere first if you need a donor account.

  • Once your switch completes, Starling emails you a voucher code to redeem on SURI's website. The code has an expiry date, so don't sit on it.

  • One per customer, ever — closing and reopening a Starling account won't get you a second.

  • Delivery is UK-only, and the toothbrush itself is SURI's responsibility, not Starling's.

  • Starling can withdraw the offer at any time, though if you've already applied to switch you'll still get your code provided you meet the conditions.

Should you do it?

If you're purely bonus-hunting, cash offers still win on flexibility. But if a £105 toothbrush was on your list anyway — or you've already burned through your eligibility for the big cash offers (most exclude anyone who's taken a bonus from that banking group before) — this is a low-effort way to get one free. Starling doesn't check whether you've claimed other banks' bonuses, which makes it a decent option for serial switchers who've run out of road elsewhere. And unlike the cash, you can't accidentally spend it on a takeaway.
