FlexPlus
Switching bonus from Nationwide
Bonus
£175
Penny's take
Decent bonus, but the fee dominates the maths. The £175 switch bonus barely covers the first ten months of the £18 monthly fee, so this account only makes financial sense if you'll genuinely use the bundled perks — worldwide family travel insurance, mobile-phone cover, breakdown cover, and fee-free card use abroad — which together could easily exceed £216 a year in standalone value.
The requirements are straightforward enough: switch via CASS, move two Direct Debits, and pay in £1,000 within 31 days. The biggest catch is first-timer eligibility — you must never have claimed a Nationwide sole-account switch bonus before, and you cannot switch from a Virgin Money account.
