Investec's 2-Year Fixed Rate Saver pays 5.00% and suits savers who have a meaningful lump sum to put away, given the £5,000 minimum deposit. Interest is paid annually into a linked account rather than compounding inside the bond, which is worth factoring in if you were hoping to roll everything up until maturity. The hard catch is the usual one with fixed bonds: your money is locked away for the full two years with no access, so only commit what you genuinely will not need. If you want to shop around, Close Brothers Savings and OakNorth Bank both offer two-year fixes at marginally higher rates right now.
