Our Expert Opinion on Halifax Bonus Saver

Jonny PeaseCo-Founder, DepositScout

The Halifax Bonus Saver pays 3.00% but only if you make two or fewer withdrawals in your account year; a third withdrawal drops the rate to 0.65% for the rest of that year, which is a significant penalty for anyone who might need occasional access. At 3.00% it sits below the easy access market average and 2.00% behind the category leader at 5.00%, and it barely keeps pace with inflation at 0.10% below the August 2026 CPI figure of 3.1%. If the withdrawal discipline suits you, it works, but I would still check Spring Easy Saver at 3.82% as a freer alternative.
