This account pays 3.90% on balances from £10 up to £5,000, which beats August 2026 CPI of 3.1% by 0.80%, so the money does at least grow in real terms. I cannot compare it against the broader market from the data I have, but Coventry Building Society's Young Saver is available at 4.00% if you want to shop around. The genuine catch here is the six-withdrawal limit per year, so it suits parents who want to set money aside and largely leave it alone rather than dip in regularly. Interest is calculated daily and paid on 31st December each year.
