The terms under which you may use data from the DepositScout Data API. --- **Draft.** This text is awaiting legal review and may change before launch. Accepting it now means accepting the version shown above; you will be asked again if a later version changes the terms. This licence is between DepositScout Ltd ("we", "us") and you, the holder of a DepositScout developer account ("you"). It covers every response you receive from the DepositScout Data API ("the Data"). You accept it when you create a developer account, and again when its version changes. It sits alongside our [Terms of Service](https://depositscout.com/legal) and [Privacy Policy](https://depositscout.com/privacy-policy). ## 1. What the Data is — and isn't The Data is comparison information about UK savings products, providers, current account offers, cards and market statistics, collected and checked by DepositScout. It is not financial advice, and it is not a recommendation to open, keep or close any account. Rates and terms change; we update the Data regularly but cannot guarantee it is complete or current at the moment you read it. ## 2. What you may do - Use the Data commercially — in a free or paid product, for your own business or for your clients — whether you're a solo developer, a start-up or a larger company, as long as you keep to section 3. - Display the Data in your own product, website, app, spreadsheet, report or research, with the attribution in section 4. - Cache responses for up to 24 hours to serve your own users. - Combine the Data with your own to build tools, comparisons and analysis for your users. - Use test keys freely to build and check your integration. ## 3. What you may not do - Resell, sublicense or redistribute the Data itself — as a dataset, download, feed or API of its own, whether free or paid. Your product can show the Data to its users; it can't hand the Data on for others to reuse. - Use bulk exports of the Data to train machine-learning models, or to build a competing comparison service. - Work around rate limits, credit charges or key controls, share one key across organisations, or scrape our website instead of using the API. - Present the Data as your own, remove the attribution, or imply that DepositScout endorses your product. - Use the Data in a way that breaks the law or misleads consumers. ## 4. Attribution Wherever the Data is shown, include "Rates powered by DepositScout" with a link to depositscout.com, or the badge from the attribution kit in the developer docs. The text is also in `meta.attribution` of every response. ## 5. Credits, limits and fair use Requests are prepaid in DS Credits at the rate shown in your portal when you buy them. You are only charged when we return a successful response: an error on our side, a rate-limit response, a validation error or an unchanged (304) result costs nothing. Rate limits and daily caps are published in the docs and may change with notice. If your use puts unusual load on our systems we may ask you to change it, apply a lower limit, or pause your keys while we talk. ## 6. Suspension and termination We may suspend or revoke keys, or close an account, if this licence is broken, if a key is compromised, or if we must do so to protect the service or comply with the law. Where we can, we will tell you first and explain why. You may close your account at any time from the portal; unused credits are handled as set out in the [refund policy](https://depositscout.com/developers/refunds). ## 7. No warranty, limited liability The Data and the API are provided "as is". We do not promise uptime, accuracy or fitness for any purpose, and we do not offer a service-level agreement under this licence. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you under this licence in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for DS Credits in that period. Nothing in this licence limits liability that cannot be limited by law. ## 8. Changes to this licence When we change these terms we publish a new version here and ask you to accept it in the portal. Existing keys keep working for a grace period stated in the portal; after that, requests are refused until the new version is accepted. ## 9. Governing law This licence is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: .
